Local Information

B&B accommodation is available at Frampton Court. This atmospheric, Grade 1 listed stately home was erected in 1732. It houses a fine collection of original period furniture, tapestries, needlework and porcelain. It is the house within whose grounds my nursery sits.

The Orangery, a unique and famous Grade 1 listed gothic gem that backs on to my nursery, converted into a comfortable home many years ago, is available to hire for holidays or weekends. It is often booked well in advance. Please phone 01452 740698 for a reservation.

Frampton village is worth a visit on its own, as it is a beauty, boasting the longest green in England; a great strip of green with three ponds, flanked either side by an eclectic mix of buildings, many ancient. Whilst watering my plants throughout the summer months, I listen to the mellow, quintessentially English sound of cricket matches over the high walls of my garden. Other attractions include Severnside walks, the Severn Bore, the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust at Slimbridge and Berkeley Castle, not to mention Westonbirt arboretum in the fabulous South Cotswolds very nearby.

Food and drink can be found at The Bell or the Three Horse Shoes on the Green, or for those more discerning, The Old Passage Inn at Arlingham is locally famous for its fresh fish and its fine Severnside location.
